Local Guatemalan women will be hired to live with and care for the children in the Village.

Each mother will have up to seven children in her home. Including any of her own biological children.

The moms will be provided with a salary, a monthly budget to provide for the children and a room of her own in the Village home.

A pension plan will be in place and upon retirement, the mothers will have their own retirement apartments in the Village where they can assume the role of "grandmother", if they wish.

The women will be recruited and hired by the Village Director and trained to meet the required standards put in place by the Society.

The mothers will work in cooperation with each other to care for the children and the village.

Single mothers will be welcomed to apply to be a Project Somos Foster Mother.

The mothers will form a council of mothers to offer practical advice in the running and development of the Village.
