Project Somos hosted its inaugural fundraising gala Fiesta. Fronted by Heather Knox and Gin Nielsen, the evening of live music, premium wines, fine chocolates, and decadent desserts raised money to build an eco-sustainable village for orphaned and abandoned children in Guatemala.

- Ethical Bean. In December, Ethical Bean Coffee will donate $1 from every unit of coffee sold to help the children of Guatemala by contributing to two charities, Child Aid's FundIt and Project Somos. Through Ethical Bean's contributions, more than 245 children have been given the opportunity to attend elementary school since the program's beginnings in 2004. Ethical Bean's coffee is available in stores throughout the North Shore.
