| Heather Knox
Executive Director Heather Knox has volunteered and worked in numerous non-profit organizations for many years. She has been an entrepreneur since 1990 and has travelled extensively throughout the world. She has recently completed a multi-cultural novel for children aged 9-12 years old. Heather has been studying Community Economic Development, Fundraising and Spanish for the last number of years. Most recently she was the Community Development Coordinator for the Vancouver Folk Music Festival which she has been involved with for over 20 years. She is passionate about providing opportunities to better the lives of children in need. |
Kate Lasiuk has worked in the non-profit sector in several capacities, including serving as the Sustainable Living Coordinator on an ecological demonstration site in southern Spain, and more recently as the Volunteer Coordinator for the Vancouver Folk Music Festival. Kate travelled to Guatemala in 2007 where she became fluent in Spanish, and gained first-hand experience of the social & political realities of that country. Kate is passionate about social and environmental justice. She loves travelling, cooking, and learning foreign languages. She recently completed a Permaculture Design Certificate, and is currently taking a hiatus from her degree in International Development at Simon Fraser University to work with Project Somos. |
